He enjoys traveling, especially to the West and Southwest and has an avid interest in Native American and Western history. He also has a casual interest in landscape gardening, woodworking, astronomy and fishing.

Cassie Grantham
Cassie Grantham has been working with animals since 1998 and joined Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital in 2000. Cassie has been caring for pets in the kennel since she started and has recently been assuming some technician’s duties. Cassie has a beautiful daughter, Nora Rose, born in December of 2002, and a new daughter, Miranda Jean, who was born in December of 2005. She is also “mom” to a kitten named Halo. In her spare time she likes to do craft projects with her daughter, listen to Disney sing-a-longs, burn dinner and pretend to sleep.
Denise Blichman
Denise Blichman joined our team in 2003. She is a former army brat whose family settled in the Kansas City area in the mid 70’s. Denise spent several years working with rescue groups before joining Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital. Denise has one daughter, Athena, and they share their home with several different animals. Her favorite, “Miss B” is a little mix-breed dog with lots of heart. In her spare time she enjoys reading or watching anything that involves “science fiction”.
Diane Glassburn
Diane Glassburn was born and raised in up state New York, and spent her youth helping out on the family’s Polled Hereford farm. She attended New England Educational Center in Framingham, Massachusetts, graduating with a degree as a Veterinary Technician in 1974. After returning home to New York, she worked for an animal hospital that specialized in both large and small animals. In 1977, she married her high school sweetheart and moved to Kansas City where he attended college. Diane started her tenure at Johnson County Animal Clinic after that move. With some time off for her two children’s needs, she has worked for both Johnson County Animal Clinic and Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital for 28 years.
Her family also includes two dogs, two cats that live with the family, and numerous strays that seem to be attracted to her home.
Lindsey (groomer)
Lindsey graduated from K-State with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. After trying the corporate world for a while, she quickly realized she needed direct contact with animals to prevent cube-related injuries such as window jumping. Lindsey groomed professionally through college and beyond, and brings a sense of the pet stylist’s art to Leawood Plaza Animal Hospital. Also a trained receptionist, you might occassionally hear her on the phone. Her favorite part of being a hospital staff member is seeing happy pets and owners on a regular basis. Being around puppies and kittens, in particular, helps ward off bad corporate flashbacks.
Lindsey and her boyfriend Aaron have six fur kids and three fish. They answer to a Pomeranian named Tonka, an Aussie/Lab named Ozzie, cats, Catty and Foot (a polydactyl), and half-Arabian horses, Houdini and S.J. In her spare time, Lindsey enjoys puppy training, writing, photography, horseback riding, burying her nose in a book and telling awful jokes. Don’t ask her to tell you one- she just might! One of her biggest goals is to publish a book some day. We say as long as it isn’t a joke book, she’ll be good to go!
Katie Beth Kinder
Katie Beth Kinder joined our team in June 2007. She is also a college student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and will graduate in May of 2009 with a Bachelors of Business Administration. She is very excited about graduating, by the way! Katie Beth has several furry and feathered kids: two Persian cats, Liam and Aurora, and two doves, Malachi and Mordecai. In her spare time she enjoys horseback riding, reading, playing with her kids, going to car shows and car races.
